*5. BIBLE QUESTION (10 POINTS)*
Answer the following question with 3 sentences or more:
In Matthew 15:13-14 we see Jesus warned people to stay away from BLIND GUIDES. We have to be VERY careful that we don’t follow a spiritually BLIND GUIDE that leads us away from Jesus. When a person preaches to themself, they use a Bible verse and use it to remind them of the truth found in the Bible. This can be a huge source of encouragement and peace when going through a difficult time. Imagine that your child is in the hospital and you are scared. Here is how you can use Psalm 23 to preach to yourself:
EXAMPLE PRAYER
“God, I’m really scared right now with my child in the hospital. But I choose to trust you. I believe what you say in Psalm 23. I believe that even when I walk through dark times, you are with me and will not leave. I can depend on you to comfort me. I love you Jesus! Amen.”
In Matthew 14 we see that Jesus went away from the people to spend time praying. We live in a very busy society and all day long our mind is drawn to our cell phone. Talk about several benefits to turning off all the noise, going away, and spending time praying like Jesus did.
Oh,I love this question because it's something I struggle with personally, but when ever I succeed to keep my phone and spend time in prayer,I feel at peace, less stimulated from too much screen time and I feel a sense of quietness to all problems around me.At times when I get really overwhelmed I just go to the chapel and sit in silence,it's a true and tried method .
