*3. HIGHLIGHT FROM CLASS (10 POINTS)*
Share 6 or more sentences of what you learned in Breakout Room 1 and Breakout Room 2 discussions with your classmates. Organize your response into two separate sections, with one section for each breakout room, and share what you learned from the topics discussed.
Answer:
The breakout rooms were fun as usual as I had opportunity to learn from others, perspectives I might not have considered.
In Breakout Room One, I discovered how effective Simon Says can be as a teaching tool. It's more than just a game—it keeps learners alert, involved, and excited to participate. I also liked the idea of teaching through action. For example, while teaching nouns, learners can label objects around the classroom, making the lesson feel natural and giving everyone a chance to speak. Also good teaching isn't about using big words; it's about explaining concepts in simple, clear English that every learner can understand.
Breakout Room Two was especially meaningful. We talked about how a father's presence—or absence—can shape a child's relationship with God. It made me realize how deeply father wounds can affect a person's faith, causing questions like, "If God loves me, why did my father leave?" At the same time, the discussion didn't end with the pain. We have good in Good and with trust and faith in him we can be healed.
*4. FILM A VIDEO (15 POINTS)*
Record a video speaking to the point and teaching a class how to play Simon Says. It’s very important NOT to explain the game as you teach your pretend class of students. In order to SPEAK TO THE POINT, you should just start playing the game, and as you play, use simple words to help students learn how to play. Our goal as teachers is to AVOID talking and explaining with lots of words. A great teacher can SPEAK TO THE POINT! Post your video demonstrating this skill.
*5. ESL RESEARCH (10 POINTS)*
Research why it’s important for a teacher to speak to the point while teaching. Write a complete paragraph. Make sure to support your answers with other authors and make the proper quotation.
Answer:
From my experience, speaking to the point helps students stay focused and understand lessons more easily. I noticed that clear, simple explanations encouraged participation, while unnecessary details often caused confusion. This reflects the findings of (Hattie J 2009), who highlights the importance of teacher clarity, and (Rosenshine 2012), who recommends presenting information in small, manageable steps. These experiences have shown me that clear and focused communication leads to more effective learning.

*7.BIBLE QUESTIONS (10 POINTS)*
IMPORTANT: Make sure your answer is 3 sentences or more:
A. In Acts 2 we see that the Holy Spirit comes to Christians. The Bible is very clear that there is one God in three Persons (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) The Holy Spirit is God who has eternally existed forever and now on the day of Pentecost, we see something incredible happen. What happened?
Answer:
In Acts 2, the Holy Spirit was poured out on the believers at the upper room, fulfilling Jesus' promise. The disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit, spoke in different languages, and boldly proclaimed God's message. This event marked the beginning of the Church and the Holy Spirit's indwelling presence in us believers.
B. In Genesis 41:1 we see that Joseph was in prison a long time even after Joseph might have thought he would be quickly released. What can you learn from this?
Answer:
In Gen 41 : 1, After helping the cupbearer , Joseph probably expected to be remembered and released, but instead, nothing changed for two more years. Waiting like that couldn't have been easy. It reminds me that there are times when I expect God to answer quickly, and when He doesn't, I start asking why. Joseph's story makes me realize that a delay doesn't always mean God is saying no. Sometimes we can't see what He is doing until much later, this challenges me to be more patient and trust that God's timing has a purpose, even when I don't understand it.
*8. TRAUMA INFORMED TEACHING (10 POINTS)*
Remind yourself of the ways that parents can wound their children:
1. The Absent Parent:
The absent parent can be absent physically or emotionally.
2. The Addicted Parent:
The addicted parent can be addicted to work, drugs, pleasure, or something else.
3. The Angry Parent:
The angry parent has no control over their temper. The child is always in trouble.
4. The Abusive Parent:
The abusive parent could be physically, sexually, verbally, or emotionally abusive.
5. The Belittling Parent:
The belittling parent puts down the child through words and body language.
6. The Controlling Parent:
The controlling parent is constantly watching and controlling the child.
7. The Manipulative Parent:
The manipulative parent uses manipulation to control the child.
A. PRIVATE JOURNAL: Reflect: Did either of your parents fit into any of these categories? Write a paragraph about each of your parents. Discuss whether each parent fit into any of the categories above. Don’t post your answer to the question. Leave a comment confirming that you have completed this assignment.
Answer
Yes I did the above.
B. Let’s talk more about the ABSENT Parent. The absent parent is physically or emotionally absent in a child’s life. The parent is not there for the child when the child is in need. There is a lack of connection, bonding, and relationship between parent and child. Reflect: Spend some time researching the Absent Parent. Be sure and choose reliable sources to get your information from.
Answer:
An absent parent is someone who is either physically or emotionally unavailable to their child. This lack of presence can affect a child's emotional well-being, self-esteem, relationships, and behavior. Children need more than a parent's physical presence—they need love, attention, and emotional connection. With consistent care and support, many children can overcome the challenges of growing up with an absent parent.
What are some ways that an absent mother and an absent father would have a different effect on the child?
Answer:
Absent mother:An absent mother often affects a child's emotional security, by making it harder to trust others, express emotions, and build close relationships.
Absent father: While an absent Father often affects a child's confidence, identity, and sense of stability. Children may seek validation from others and miss the guidance of a positive male role model.
The absence of Both parents can contribute to low self-esteem, feelings of abandonment, trust issues, emotional distress, and difficulties in school or future relationships.
C. Draw a Venn diagram showing the impact of an absent parent on a family. One side should show the impact of an absent mother, while the other side should show the impact of an absent father. In the middle section, include some effects that are the same, whichever parent is the absent one. Submit your Venn diagram.
*9. THE CHOSEN (10 POINTS)*
Watch this episode of the Chosen.
Season 3 Episode 7
EPISODE LINK: https://watch.thechosen.tv/video/184683594333?language=en
After watching the episode of The Chosen, answer the following questions:
A. Which scene or conversation with Jesus impacted you the most? Describe what happened.
Answer:
The scene that impacted me the most was when Jesus healed the man who was deaf and could hardly speak. When Jesus went with his disciples to settle the issues arising from his messages.
Before entering the city,he was met with the man's son who begged Jesus to heal his father, Jesus gently touched the man's ears, spoke the word "Ephphatha," meaning "Be opened," and immediately the man was able to hear and speak clearly.
What stood out to me was the personal way Jesus cared for him. He didn't treat him like just another miracle. He showed compassion and empathy before performing the healing.
B. What did this scene teach you about Jesus and His character?
Answer:
This scene showed me that Jesus is compassionate, humble, and deeply personal in the way He cares for people. Instead of healing the man publicly to prove His power, He chose to protect his dignity and meet his need with kindness. It reminded me that Jesus values people more than recognition and that His focus is always on doing His Father's will.
C. How can you apply this truth to your daily walk with Christ?
Write at least 8–10 sentences. Bible passage is this scene based on? (If you know it.
Answer:
Mark 7:31-37
D. How can you apply this truth to your daily walk with Christ?
Write at least 8–10 sentences.
Answer:
After reflecting on this scene, I realized how often I expect God to work in obvious, dramatic ways. Seeing Jesus heal the man and ask them to keep it quiet made me notice that He wasn't trying to impress the crowd. He was focused on the person in front of Him. That challenged me because I care too much about outward things instead of simply being faithful to what is right.
Over the past few days, I've tried to be more intentional about showing love in small ways without expecting anyone to notice. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but I found myself listening more carefully to people instead of rushing through conversations. I also caught myself wanting recognition for something I had done, and this scene came back to my mind. It reminded me that my motivation matters just as much as my actions.
Another lesson I took away is that every person deserves to be treated with dignity. Jesus never forgot that behind every problem was a person. He saw the man first, then met his need with compassion. That has made me more aware of how I respond to people in my own daily interactions.
I'm still trying to work on myself. Knowing that It's less about being noticed and more about reflecting His love, humility, and care in the ordinary moments of everyday life.
*10. PEER REVIEW (05 POINTS)*
Find one student that posted in the homework group on whatsapp and review their work. This could be any project list you would like to review. Please mention who you reviewed and one thing you liked about their response or video they posted.
I reviewed Teacher Charles Sarah Osemudiameh Project List 26 . I liked how she explained the lesson she learned from the episode , it felt sincere and thoughtful. Her response was well organized and showed that she took time to reflect on the message rather than simply summarizing the episode.
